Bellevue, Wash. – Nov. 7, 2012 – National Specialty Underwriters Inc. (“NSU”), an insurance program manager and specialty niche wholesale brokerage headquartered in Bellevue, Wash. has changed its name to Ultra Risk Advisors (“Ultra”). The name change followed the recent sale of the NSU Hospitality Division.

Going forward the company will continue to focus on specialty niches and further expand healthcare programs under the new brand name, Ultra. They have three existing programs in healthcare: medical imaging, correctional healthcare and binding authorities for healthcare facilities such as ambulatory surgery centers and home health providers.

“This is an opportunity for us to expand on our specialization in the healthcare field,” said Chris Randall, NSU founder and CEO. “Seeing our company’s growth in healthcare has been both exciting and rewarding.  We have successfully developed specialized programs in specialty niche segments and it is now a good time to focus on the continued expansion of specialized programs in the healthcare industry.”

The Hospitality Division was purchased by IDP Holdings LLC (“IDP”); a joint venture between Ironshore Holdings (U.S.) Inc. and Distinguished Programs Group LLC, that focuses on the Managing General Underwriter and Program Manager segments of the commercial insurance distribution business. IDP will operate the newly acquired divisions under the brand name of National Specialty Underwriters, Inc.
